Mode à Paris Special
Paris is the administrative, business and cultural centre of France. A city where history, modernity, power & identity tryst daily. The best minds are known over the centuries to have retreated to Paris for the best in art, architecture, poetry and indeed, fashion. If you are in the city, it is a must to stay at Hôtel Costes which mirrors Parisian high life style with its eccentric decor and glamorous environment turning any guest’s stay into a dream.
For a true fashion week dining experience, go down to the fashion set’s favourite restaurant Caviar Kaspia. Founded by Russian emigrant, Arcady Fixon in 1927, the restaurant on 17 Place de la Madeleine contributed to the rise of the “Art of Caviar” in Europe during the luxurious period after the Great War. Undoubtedly your meal choice should include caviar; the baked potato topped with Imperial Baeri caviar is simple but exquisite. The Kaspia boutique also sells Carine Roitfeld and Nicolas Ouchenir’s new capsule Russian doll collection.
Paris also offers an iconic annual winter ice rink, open from 18 December to 01 March – Patinoire de L’Hôtel de Ville. A symbol of Christmas in Paris, ice rink looks better after sundown, when the 19th-century building is lit up for a magical feeling (it is free to skate, €5 for skate hire with ID). After a busy ice skating session, head to rive gauche (south of the river) and enjoy a café creme at Café de Flore, in St Germain de Prés, a place famous for being a regular haunt of literary giants & intellectuals such as Jean-Paul Sartre.
