Goodwood 75th Member’s Meeting

It’s that time of the year again when clocks skip a beat and welcome spring with open arms. As the daffodils emerge through the moist ground and the british skies turn into the warmest tone of blue, I choose to soak in as much sunshine as possible and experience spring first hand. And when the occasion combines the great outdoors, cars and watches, i’m out the door with no hesitation.

Once again this year, I had the honour to attend the 75th Goodwood Member’s Meeting, one of the most historic motorsport events in the UK, where IWC launched the new ingenieur watches. The pieces are starkly reminiscent of the first generations of this watch family from the 1950s and the 1960s. Inspired by the earlier models, the new collection which comprises of three automatic models, four IWC-manufactured chronographs and a limited-edition reference with perpetual calendar, features a striking vintage character and is lighter and more elegant in its overall appearance.

And as the day’s events consisted of admiring great automotive design and going clay pigeon shooting, I choose to dress appropriately in an all time classic English countryside inspired outfit. Of course, i finished off the look with the new IWC Ingenieur Automatic, in 18 carat red gold. With it’s water-resistant feature, classic yet functional design, that offers easy legibility even in the dark thanks to SuperLuminova® elements, I felt that i could conquer any task set upon me.
