Luminous

Films. Transforming our aesthetics, transcending our reality.

It is only natural that one of the aims of the BFI this year was to reinforce engagement and education of this medium and promote as many diverse voices as possible. IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN displayed its commitment to this diversity and opportunity with its 50K Filmmaker Bursary Award awarded to Daniel Kokotajlo. His debut film “Apostasy” manifests all the quiet intensity of philosophical struggles that can be inspired by film. Attending such an event for the purpose that it served, supporting it and being part of the friends of IWC, gave me the chance to enjoy this unique experience and rock the carpet with some of the most iconic personalities of the Industry.

Guests such as LUMINOUS’ special guest speaker Oscar®-winning actor Tilda Swinton was amongst a host of luminaries including Tom Hiddleston, and Sir Patrick Stewart. The unstoppable visionary Wes Anderson and the legendary Terry Gilliamall gathered for the annual gala and raised more than 100,000 pounds to continue their dedication to storytelling.
