For a spot of shopping – it is Milan, after all – try La Rinascente, the city’s most elegant department store. It celebrated its 150th year in 2015, having been founded by the famed Bocconi brothers, just before the trend of shopping in large ‘cathedral-like’ buildings took off in the late 1800s. It offers a wide range of brands, such as Armani, Zegna and Versace.
