I started working in fashion at 17 when I was still at school. It was more a curiosity than a career. Then, when I reached 20, it got to a point where fashion was an expression of who I am. Today I’m the kind of person that will stand in front of the mirror every morning, put on a crisp white shirt and play with the tie knot for about ten-fifteen minutes. I find it very hard to change my habits. I can express myself a lot better through dressing up than I can through dressing down. When I’m buttoned up, I feel empowered, and can get my day points across effectively. It’s no effort, no work, no saving time or money. Its all about my individual style.
Last week, the Westfield team invited me to share my secrets to my individual style and what individual style means to me (find the article here), I was also delighted to be photographed by fashion photographer and art director Brendan Freeman at a pop-up studio in Westfield London. Including style mavens, trend eccentrics, fashionistas, celebrities, stylists and fellow bloggers, we all selected a word that sums up our individual style which featured in the shot.
